ON-LOCATION MUSEDICS
Romania hosts our on-location program which works with 15 Roma students in Craiova. Not only do these children learn music, their participation in Musedics is tied to academic and literacy support – which has kept these amazing young people in school and working at grade level.
Virtual Musedics
Music builds resiliency and hope - providing mental, physical, emotional and social wellness, Canticum Novum has launched Musedics in Ukraine. Currently we are working with 30 students in a pilot program – designed to expand in 2025. We are working at both a primary and secondary school in Vinnytsia and a community of foster children in Odesa. Many of our students have fathers who are on the front lines. The response has been overwhelming. Listen to them describe their experience in their own words.
Musedics provides weekly participation in both vocal and instrumental ensemble for more than 110 students at an academy in Bungoma, Kenya. Our program begins with 5th grade students and goes all the way through high school. Many of these students are orphans and live at the academy. Others live in poverty in a nearby village.
After the pandemic, two orphanages in New Delhi became our first Musedics programs in India. Soon it multiplied to include two more orphanages in Lucknow. These children have now had the opportunity to study violin and recorder. The plan is to add guitar in 2025. Former participants are now returning as university students to assist younger children in experiencing the incredible healing, dignity, and academic support that music brings.
